The 2007 USBC and USWBC (aka US Team Trials) will be held in Schaumburg, IL, near O'Hare airport June 1-10. The USBF plans extensive Vugraph coverage of these events, starting on June 3rd. Before you ask, the reason we don't have Vugraph the first two days is that those days are Round Robins, using the same boards for all matches in each event, and we cannot assure adequate security if there is Vugraph coverage.

On June 3rd-6th, we will be covering one match from the Women's semi-finals, finals and playoff, and two matches from the Open Rounds of (probably) 16 and 8. We won't know the exact Open format until entries close April 17th, and it is possible that the 3rd will be a continuation of the Round Robin, in which case we'll either cover both Women's matches or have only 2 tables up. On June 7 & 8 we will cover the 4 tables in the Open semi-finals. On June 9 & 10, the two tables of the finals.

As you can tell from the title of this post, we need operators :). We ask operators to volunteer their time. We provide training, food and pay for your reasonable transportation costs. People who have done this in the past will tell you it's a fun thing to do. As you can guess from the schedule, our biggest need for operators is June 3-8. If you live in the Chicago area and would be willing to volunteer as an operator on any of those days, preferably from 10:00 am - 8:30 pm, or 11:00 am - 11:30 pm (Women's schedule), please send me (janmartel@comcast.net) an email. If you can't help for a whole day at a time, we may be able to organize two half day operators, so please let me know if you only have half a day available. That would be either 10-2:30 or 4-8:30 for the Open and 11-4:15 or 6:15-11:30 for the Women's.

Thanks and I'll "see" you all June 3-10. For more information about the events, go to www.usbf.org

Hope this is OK - I'm trying to get this back up to the top of the Vugraph posts, since I haven't gotten any responses and June is getting closer and closer.
