How do you mix the field? In a 2 or 4 (or 6) session tournament

What's the best way to choose sitting arrangements for a 2 sessions, 4 sessions, or 6 sessions tournament? The idea is to make as many people play against each other as possible.

that may depend on the number of players.

Let's say 12 tables or 10 tables.

i am sure one could work out a 10-12 table howell movement.

for two sessions it would need to be something like 2-3 boards/round, for four
sessions 5-6 and for 6 sessions , 8 or so

here each pair would play against every other pair once.
