Assuming a soundish opening style and not playing Bergen raises, do you treat this hand as a 3 card limit raise or as a simple raise to 2S?
Is the word "pass" not in your vocabulary?

8 losers in LTC. Against that it is not a particularly great 10 count. What sways it is the xx in H.
3 card limit raise for me.

No strong feelings either way.
I voted for 2, but would probably show it as a limit raise some days, depending on vulnerabilty, scoring and pips.
Would also have no problem whichever option partner chose.

I just reread the question and noticed your stated conditions of sound opening style. Perhaps the limit raise option is better now?
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

Limit raise. The Jxx in my partner's long suit is much more valuable than if in a side suit. Decent control cards and a ruffing value. Partner should not expect more than this for a minimum limit raise.

Compare this hand to.

Axx, Jx, Qxxx, Kxxx
Axx, xx, Qxxx, KJxx

Both of these are simple raises, IMO.

OK I'll count points and this is an unflawed 11 support points. 3 card limit raise for me.

If forced to play these methods, this is a three card limit raise.... (and no, i don't play bergen either).

I don't even know what you mean by "soundish" opening bids.

To me, this is a simple raise. Partner can make a game try.

I don't even consider the small doubleton with only three card support. Besides, I like to have something in reserve for all of my bids, since my partners are very aggressive.

This is a limit raise by all of my metrics. 10 HCP, a doubleton, 8 losers, roughly 3 cover cards, and no obvious flaw. I like my AQ, and I don't love my unsupported K and J, or the lack of intermediates, but it's a bidder's game.
