I think partner is 6-5, so I just bid 6.

I think 4 is natural, and partner is 6-1-4-2, 6-0-4-3, 6-1-5-1, or 6-0-5-2. If it's any of the extreme shapes, then I don't think he has much of a hand, as he probably would open 1 spade. As such, I go the low road and bid 5 .

It doesn't matter that 4 is. You just bid 6 and pard corrects to 6 if he had hearts in mind.

Partner is agreeing H and showing a D control.

I agree with this. Of course, contextually, it is shortness, but I would take it as shortness if the context was not so obvious.

I actually think that's a good idea here. Why take the chance of a misunderstanding? Even if partner thinks that 4 is a cuebid and 6 by us shows both red suits, he will choose hearts since he would have diamond shortness in that case.

1. Cue of course

2. 6 , not impossible for him to hold QJxxxx,KTx,x,Kx, but 6 is enough.

I agree that with a pick up partner, 6 is the better idea- just in case. But with my regular partner 4 is defined as a cue, so I would not joke around.
Kind Regards

4 is imo cue with fit, but it depends on our partner... I think the plan of bidding 6 can't go wrong.
