All I know is, one of 'em was Gerry Rafferty.

And if you've seen "Reservoir Dogs," you have an eternal mental connection every time you hear "Stuck in the Middle."

Not saying it's the best or worst cover version of all time, but I have the suspicion Motorhead/Wendy O Williams version of Stand by your man might be the one that would have the original artist spinning fastest in their grave, any other offers ?

If I could write you a song,
and make you fall in love,
I would already have you up under my arm.
I used to pull all my tricks,
I hope that you like this.
but you probably won't,
you think you're cooler than me.

you got designer shades,
just to hide your face and
you wear them around like
you're cooler than me.
and you never say hey,
or remember my name.
its probably cuz,
you think you're cooler than me.

you got your hot crowd,
shoes on your feet,
and you wear them around,
like they ain't *****.
but you don't know,
the way that you look,
when your steps
make
that
much
noise.

see I got you,
all figured out,
you need everyone's eyes just to feel seen.
girl, your so vain,
you probably think that this song is about you.
don't you? don't you?

if I could write you a song,
and make you fall in love,
I would already have you up under my arm.
I used to pull all my tricks,
I hope that you like this.
but you probably won't,

you wear them around like,
you're cooler than me.
and you never say hey,

it's probably cuz,
you think you're cooler than me.

you got your hot crowd,
switching your walk,
and you don't even look when you pass by.
but you don't know,
the way that you look.
when your steps make
that
much
noise.

and don't you dare act like you don't know,
know what's up,
cuz your nose is up.
I'm approaching up.
like I can't give you winter in the summer
or summer in the winter

trying to look bored in them Dior's.

You got your head in the clouds

Would have thought the chorus more appropriate for a bridge tournament, especially a matchpoint event:

Quote

Clowns to the left of me,
Jokers to the right,
Here I am stuck in the middle with you.

When Senators have had their sport
And sealed the Law by vote,
It little matters what they thought -
We hang for what they wrote.

And my team, Norwich City who I saw beat FC Bayern not that long ago in Munich, are back up from the third tier of English football to the second and doing quite nicely.

As to that American game (ex nose tackle here) my team appear doomed having traded a good QB to the Redskins and got the average one they replaced him with concussed.

Broncos rule just because their home games can be hilarious.

I once tuned in 30 seconds into the game, bright sunshine and the first thing the announcer said was Green Bay is toast. They had fumbled the first 2 kickoffs, for Denver TD's and were down 14 - zip. By the end of the first quarter, there was 1/2 a foot of snow on the field.

By 1/2 time, a foot and picking up steam but Lynn Dickey almost pulled out the win. Nobody could punt or kick a field goal so both teams just went for it all the time.
