"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

If three consecutive posters complain about off-topic posts, have they hijacked the thread - assuming the thread isn't about hijacking the thread?

has it ever happened to you when some social injustice happens to you (some moron gets in front of you in the line, or someone doesn't call back when they promise), you wished you could ask for the Director? despite what the laws forum here would suggest bridge is such a simple world where justice is swift and unforgiving.

No, but I years ago I sometimes tried to reach the "game" menu to load my saved game in real life after some disaster.

I'm guessing from this story that they don't allow Forcing Pass systems in Costa Rican bridge clubs and that people can actually spend time on the beaches there because they don't have to hole up in hotel rooms preparing esoteric defenses.

Well, in life and in bridge, there would be no stress if only a rating system was implemented.

Try getting inot an expert table ans see what happens to you.

Sorry if this on topic but I have to say that bridge has helped me here. In those situations, I often find myself asking, for a few seconds, if what seems to be happening is what is really happening instead of reacting reflexively. Usually it is. But not always.

Avacados are way, way underrated.

Every plate of food should come with a side of avacado.

And bacon.

In related news, Americans eat too much and don't exercise enough. Avacados may exacerbate the situation.

@ Passedout:

Quote

The CMS website has a lot of data on Medicare and Medicaid expenditures, although it is not kept quite current. The latest data on the Health Expenditures by state of residence chart is from 2004. You can see (page 10 of 19) that Medicare paid $8,462 per year for personal care for each of the Minnesotans who moved to Florida, but only $6,435 per year for the folks who stayed in Minnesota.

So if I follow your point, Minnesotans should retire to Florida and get their $8,462 per year Medicare payment but REALLY get their care in Minnesota and only pay $6,435 per year, thus pocketing the difference so they can have enough money saved to retire to Florida.

I don't know - sounds kind of circular to me.

I don't understand why goverments go harsh against smoking. It seems very cool to have people unstressed working for 40 years, and then die at their 60s.

Would it be wrong of me to create a thread and post in it over and over simply to run up my total?

It was fun to leave at 10k but no more games from me. When I pass inquiry and when/if I pass you I'll just keep plugging along.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.
