2 Questions:
1) When you open in 3rd seat when should you pass partner's 1/1 (at whatever form of scoring/colors, if it matters). Also if it matters, you and partner agree to open very light 3rd seat.
2) Playing a strong club, the auction goes:
P - (P) - 1D* - (P) .................. *1D = 11-15, 1+ diamond
1S- (P) - P - (2D)
P - (P) - X
Is X takeout or penalty, and what type of hand does this show? This was r/w MPs, but I doubt scoring matters.

1. when you have a relatively minimum hand with 3 card support. it is almost always bad to pass with 4 card support because partner could have some nice 6-4 and would bid game over a raise. if you have a minimum with 3 cards, the likelihood of making game drops dramatically and despite what others will tell you opps will pass it out in 1M, in my opinion about 25-50% of the time because the guy in passout seat has wrong shape to act.
2. good question. i need to think about it. i guess it depends on what hands are admissible for 1D, but I would think this shows some 3415??

... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

i only pass 1/1s when it's impossible (or very, very unlikely) that game will be a good spot. This usually means bal-ish hands with 3 card support and a minimum.
i think this should be takeout. 3424 or something seems about right.

Yes. For us, 2C shows 6+ or 5+ with a 4cM.
I had a 10 count 3=4=2=4. We were only -180, but there was a discussion as to whether I'm supposed to be like 3=2=5=2 or like 3=4=2=4.

Takeout, just give up on penalty doubles in a spot like this, if you have one partner would probably have made a takeout double, and the opps usually have a better spot.
I pass 1/1 with 3 trumps and a min usually, occasionally some other hand types.
