South is declaring 6. e/w passed throughout the bidding.
lead is J , east wins and returns 5.

I hope this is an instructive hand for int players.

I'll take a stab - we need to win all of the remaining tricks, so our options seem restricted to finessing East for the K. We have limited entries in dummy, though, so if s break 3-2 or worse it may be difficult to cross to dummy for the second (and third) finesse. For this reason, should we play East for Q, play low and win the J in dummy?

I don't think letting the club run is that good. Better to win club, cash K and ruff spade to dummy and let the Q run. You need spades 5-3 (compared to diamonds 4-3) and hearts 3-2 compared to club finesse winning. If you have (get) some strong reason to think s are 4-1, you can still survive when diamonds are 4-3 and you finesse the 9 on second round.

Use the spade to cross to dummy for the trump finesse. Q. If west is void and east covers with the king, I hope the K drops the queen to give me another entry to finesse the 9.
Still decidedly intermediate - don't take my guesses as authoritative.

You don't have another trump to finesse after ruff if they are 5-0. But then there is a chance of trump coup so the club needs to be cashed indeed. (Need east to be 3532 exactly)
