New Tourney Tool - Completion Rate Filter

Select this filter if you want to include players who have completed at least xxx% of the tourneys they entered on BBO.
You get to write the xxx figure yourself.
So if you want only players who have completed 90% of the tourneys they have entered to play your tourney, you select this feature, and write 90% in the box next to this filter option. And then only these players can enter your tourneys.
This completion rate filter is not available in the old windows version.

I'd suggest that TDs try something in the 75-85% range. And then, depending on time of day, tweak it at will based on experience.
The idea is that whitelisting players with good completion rates will lower the # of "runners", as we call them, and lead to a more pleasant experience for the TD as well as the players.
You'll get Qs about this number. Just send them to us. We compute this number nightly, looking at the last 30 days , for people with 10+ Ts. We might tweak these #s later

Wonderful tool. There are too many players who leave after a bad hand. It really can make things difficult for TDs sometimes.
Its great BBO keeps improving the soft.
A good feature would be to be able to identify players logged with 2 nicks simultaneously. Could be a number by their nick as winners of certain tournaments have!

Why? If you enter a tournament as a sub, shouldn't you get credit for playing the remainder of the tournament to completion?

Not yet. It was thrown together in a hurry ( like I'm going to throw together MatMat's idea for a similar number for MBC completion rate ).
I couldn't think of a clean way to show this statistic. Someday it will go into profiles, i'm sure.

Im payed tournament (like acbl speedballs) person entered as a substitute will be replaced by software if original player return. I don't think it is reasonable to punish people who help to "keep game running" by decreasing their " Minimum Completion Rate" stats if it could affect their accesibility to other tournaments.

Certainly, players should not be penalized for that. If it's do-able, subs should get credit for completing a tournament if they play until either (i)the completion of the tournament or (ii)they are replaced in favor of the original player.

If sub bails from tourney, it counts as a bailed tourney.
If sub is subbed out from tourney, it doesn't count for or against them.

Of the two I mentioned above, I think I somewhat prefer the partner ration one; I am not sure how effective the completed boards number would be, especially since I think that if someone sits down and bails before a bid is made, it doesn't count against them.
I would be curious to see a histogram of the tourney completion values for the BBO populace. It might be a good graphical representation of sensible cut-offs.

+------------------------+------------+ | approx_completion_rate | Percentage | +------------------------+------------+ | 0 | 0 | | 5 | 0 | | 10 | 0 | | 15 | 0 | | 20 | 0 | | 25 | 0 | | 30 | 0 | | 35 | 0 | | 40 | 0 | | 45 | 1 | | 50 | 1 | | 55 | 1 | | 60 | 2 | | 65 | 3 | | 70 | 4 | | 75 | 5 | | 80 | 8 | | 85 | 10 | | 90 | 17 | | 95 | 21 | | 100 | 27 | +------------------------+------------+
In other words, 21% of the people about whom we have an opinion are around 95%. Another 27 are close to 100. so about 48% are 95+ , more or less.
For 2 people for whom we have an opinion, there are approx 3 who play Ts, but not frequently enough for us to have an opinion.
