Here a rather unusual problem from today's christmas individual at my club.

You hold ♠JTxxx ♥Axxx ♦x ♣xxx. LHO opens 1♣, partner bids 1♦, RHO passes. You decide to stick your neck out with 1♠. Fortunately, this is raised to 2♠ and everyone passes.

RHO leads the ♣9. Your play?

i dislike taking advantage of this random rule anyway but this is a christmas individual. calling to and force lho to make a foolish lead won't make this evening better...

to decide what site will play this contract better is enough advantage for me, i dont see why it should be played from my side. beeing dummy i could get a beer and enjoy the evening, but the club is located in cologne so i wont get good beer too, damn

Actually it was in Leverkusen, and there was no beer at all, only wine. ;)

In this particular case, it turned out that forbidding a club lead was good, but I was wondering whether anyone had thoughts about how to decide this kind of situation.

in my local club they are very common, and from the 5 options I'd say I pick the best one roughly 20% of the time
