The explanation of South's Pass (available when I was considering calls, but apparently not available afterwards) is basically "no new information". I think it should deny a four-card major.

I guess the idea is that a 4-card major would be "new information", and the pass denies this.

Sorry, my shorthand wasn't clear. The explanation of "Pass" includes "2-5C; 2-5D; 2-4H; 2-4S", same as the explanation of 1NT, so GIB doesn't think my pass gave any additional information. I think my pass should deny a 4-card major, so the explanation should be different.
