In this case, what the ruling is has been decided and agreed, but nobody here understands the white book well enough to actually do the calculation and provide the IMP scores.

Teams of 4, NS vul. Result from other table EW 3-1 NS +50

What happened at the table in question was the auction started with west opening 1N-X-XX-P-P with the XX explained as business, systemically weak take out into a minor. With correct explanation N passes this out and collects 600. However N removed with the MI and NS took a SEWoG shot later in the auction converting 3= +140 to 3N-1 = -100.

EW get a table result of -600 for -11 IMPS

Am I right in thinking the mistake cost +3 IMPS (for 140-50)- -4 IMPS (for -100-50) = 7 IMPS so NS get 11-7=+4 IMPs ?

You mean EW get the result of the adjusted score: -600 for -11 IMPS

Yes.

I have a spreadsheet for these calculations that I mean to smarten up and release to the world.

Don't forget you can always find the numbers of the top EBU TDs [and others, of course] in the EBU diary and on the EBU website and ring them for help of this sort. If you want to ring someone after 11.30 pm try me: if you want to ring someone before noon, don't try me!!!!!
