East leads the heart 3, North winning the first trick with the ace. North proceeded to make 3 overtricks in 3N, including making 2 heart tricks against a seeded pair in a sectional. Any guesses how this happened?

Only thing I can come up with is that either someone revoked or played out of turn and the laws could be applied. 2♥ tricks? You're kidding right!

OK, still there? Here's the scoop: Declarer played the J♦ up to the K on the board, and then led a spade to his K and partner's ace (I was West on this hand). Partner then plays the ♥5. Because this would block the heart suit on partner's actual holding, I decided to duck, playing partner for T853 in hearts and a minor suit ace, and to play declarer for AK tight in hearts. Spectacular failure, and much amusement afterwards. Oh, and, of course, holding declarer to 3N would be enough matchpoints to win the event instead of finishing 3rd (we were a half board out of 1st for the 2 session event).

actually, it was my partner who was a seed. I'm years away from being out of flight B. But this wasn't meant to be a "my partner is an idiot" post - she played very well all day, and while this wasn't a highlight, it was my decision to duck that did the most damage, scoring wise. I posted because I (and my partner, and our opponents), found it very funny that A8 vs 96 was worth two tricks at a moderately high level table, and because I like to share failures if they are particularly spectacular like this one.

This is somewhat tangential to the OP, but I recently read about a leading scheme against NT ((Cincinatti defensive carding) where E would systemically lead the ♥3 on the opening lead holding two honours and ♥5 otherwise.
Has anyone played this and if so, what's your experience?
