1) Spade 2, boring but I want to set up my longest suit
2) In the old days insta jack of spades. Nowadays, meh, sad jack of spades
I rarely do stuff like this anymore but it seems as good as anything, everything sucks so bad.

1. Queen of diamond
2. low club. My partners hand seems to be too weak to get his spades running.

On hand 1 I feel a spade is normal, we have 4 reasonable spades and no extremely attractive alternative.
On 2 I lead a boring low club.

1) Low spade
2) Low club. Will feel a little unlucky if dummy shows up with long clubs. Opener's diamond suit is probably real, else opener would probably have been able to support spades. If opener holds 4 diamonds, then 4 hearts are very likely held, too.

The first one again caused some argument between the team's passive leader and the team's more active leader. On this hand, the diamond is right (partner has K9xxx). A spade lets it through, although declarer went off at the table.
The second one is a horrible hand to lead from, I admit I quite like a spade.
Double dummy, the only winning lead is a low club which partner has to win from Kxxxx and switch to a heart to set up 7 tricks (5 clubs, 1 spade, 1 heart). Partner's only entry to the long club (they are blocked) is the ace of spades so you have to set up the HK before it's knocked out.
At the table, my partner selected the jack of hearts which wouldn't have occurred to me, but there you go. Declarer, with Qxx in dummy and Axx in hand, thought he was safe to duck this in dummy, but then we had 7 tricks.
I don't think that proves anything, but it's still a horrible lead problem.

With 4 jacks you pretty much have to lead one of them
(I will LOL if partner had K7xxx of clubs so the jack of clubs makes it easy to defeat if partner plays the king lol, then again of course partner will not be in on the joke and might not play the king if dummy doesn't have the queen, still funny).

Sounds like declarer can make it by raising with ♥A to play spades while clubs are blocked.

Clubs aren't blocked if partner can start them. Partner has Kxxxx, you have AJ86 and declarer has Q9 in hand and 10x in dummy. As JLOGIC observes the CJ (or C8) leads also unblock the suit. Just not the normal 4th highest lead.
