Problem logging onto BBO and Forums Tuesday evening June 18

Did anyone else have any problem logging on to BBO and the Forums on the evening of Tuesday, June 18, at about 10:00pm Eastern Daylight Time (New York Time)?

I got onto the sites later - about 11:30 pm - but did not see any announcement about any problems.

Our web hosting provider was under a DoS attack that evening.

What is a DoS attack? Disruption of Service, Dreadful online Service, Degrading our Service?

Denial of Service. Usually accomplished by having a massive number of computers trying to log in at the same time to prevent others from doing so.

(Technically that's a DDoS with an extra "D" for "distributed", but nobody does the old-fashioned version anymore)
