On a heart lead this appears to be a 5 or 7 hand playing in clubs with the exception that when clubs are 4-1 but the spade ruffing finesse works and the clubs are with 3 or more spades, you can still make 6. If you bid 6N you will make barring a heart lead if the clubs break and have little chance on a heart lead, but may pick up a couple of IMPs over 6♣.

On a non heart lead, 6♣ is excellent.

We played a pedestrian 3N making 6, and would have made 6 had we been in it as we managed to bid and raise hearts during the auction so I don't think they were ever going to lead one.

I think I would play this in 6♣ but on an auction that makes a heart lead easy. Something like:

1♣ = 15+ nat/bal or 18+ any
... - 1♥ = GF, 4+ spades, <4 hearts unless balanced or 3-suited
2♣ = 15-17, 6+ clubs, no other 4+ suit
... - 3♣ = nat, SI
3♥ = good hand for slam, diamond control, no heart control
... - 3♠ = spade control?
4♣ = yes, and no void
... - 4♦ = RKCB
4♠ = 0 or 3
... - 5♦ = K ask
5NT = ♦K only
... - 6♣

It looks like a hand that favours a more direct approach.

We bid:

1♣-1♥
2♦(normal reverse usually 4, didn't want to bid 3♣ holding 3 hearts)-2♠(4SF)
3♥-3N

I could possibly have bid 4♣ over this but I didn't as I felt I was fairly minimum for the reverse, partner could have bid 4N as "like 3N but better", but even so not sure if I accept.

This looks like a textbook quant 4NT over 2♦, and South is arguably worth an accept with good controls and a sixth club. If North wants to keycard, he has to agree a suit first.

At present, this is a non-mainstream treatment, but my impression is that it is gaining popularity quite rapidly, and is pretty easy to apply logically in various once you get used to playing it this way.
