I recently became aware of the Free Bridge Tournaments that permit one to play with robots and have started to play these.
I particularly like the Free Easy Bridge Daily (Total Points) and the Free 7 Trick Daily which has all of the contracts being 1NT.
In the Free 7 Trick Daily Daily I have noticed that all hands are white vs white. However I have also noticed that the scoring is not reflective of this because if I lose a contract by 1 trick it can be down 50 or 100 pts.
2 down can be as much as 200 pts, despite the fact that I am not indicated as being vulnerable.
This undefined scoring inconsistency can cause one to reach a lower 'ranking' than 'legitimately earned' because of cumulative scoring when compared to all those others who have played.
For new players to the game who are trying to learn better bridge by playing in these Free Daily tournies and trying to understand the scoring, having these incorrect/unexplainable variation in scores is frustrating.
And yes I would change my plan of play if I knew I was vulnerable or not.
I am assuming that at some point vulnerability is being utilized to extract the score, but there is no indication when this occurs. All 8 hands remain white vs white throughout play.
Can someone please look into this matter.
Thanks

Hi, I'm concerned when I hear of new players trying to learn/improve bridge by playing with the robots.
IMO, if your bridge aspirations are to play with real people in a real game, you will do much better finding a mentor or another improving player to play with and study together.

It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that they are difficult.
