Playing at IMPs, you are dealt:

What are my options?
  • 2NT invite+, with 3+ cards
  • 2NT Lebensohl type

Usually responder has room to distinguish between 3 and 4+ card support, but not here; what do you recommend?

The methods I like in this auction are:

2NT = either 6+ and roughly invitational, or 5+ and GF
3 = either 6+ and roughly invitational, or 5+ and GF
3 = invitational with 3+
3 = competitive with 3-4
3 = game force with 3+
3NT = to play
4m = fit-showing heart raise (4+, 5+ in minor, wide range of values)
4 = big fit, not forward-going

With these methods the given hand is a clear 3 bid.

Of course, if you don't have these options you might have to choose between a wide-ranging 3 and forcing to game. I think I'd take the conservative path since bad breaks are likely.

Anyway I appreciated your scheme; thanks!

If you play Rubensohl when RHO interferes over 1NT, then you can basically maintain the same responses here, just make the impossible transfer (3 ) a competitive raise instead of Stayman. Which gives you much the same scheme as illustrated by awm.
