Another example. I gambled, leading King clubs and following with low card to partner's ace of clubs from a doubleton club suit. A return by GIB of the same suit for me to trump and my side ace defeats the contract. I don't see any other way to defeat the contract, since any other return simply provides a free finesse for ops. I'm unsure of GIB's logic here when it returned its singleton spade, since it would know that trumps would be split 3/2 (or worse) between it and me and trumps would be drawn before if could trump a spade. Its unclear to me why double dummy might show GIB that a spade return rather than a club return at trick 3 was the best play. Best regards
