W Leads J, E shows an odd number, what do you think your main legitimate chance is ? and what do you think your best chance of getting the contract through when it can't be made is ?

Without thinking too long on this, QJx in clubs or Qx/Jx give us good chances…QJx makes it cold, Qx/Jx leaves us a trick short

However, my immediate play probably caters to Hx. I lead the heart King. In my experience that card will win the trick more than perhaps it should. I’ve seen it ducked by AQx. It wont’t /shouldn’t be ducked by Ax but Axx surely should duck if held by LHO, and quite possibly by RHO, who may not work out the count. Plus once in a very long while, the heart queen is singleton…now they have to let me score 2 heart tricks!

While playing for QJx in clubs is the legitimate make, I think that the decent chance of the heart holding, even when it shouldn’t, makes it the best play at trick 2.but not against WC defenders…there, I play clubs.

I tabled K in tempo, defence can't know I don't have KQx if they're only looking at Axx
