Partner will have at very minimum, 10+ for his overcall

4 all I need is AKxxx, xxx(x), xxx(x), x and a 3-2 spade break but it's a hell of a long way to a slam, diamonds haven't been raised or rebid, so partner probably has a few

10+ points for an overcall, quite the luxury!

Slam might be on but I think it's difficult to find one while staying at a safe level if partner has an unsuitable hand. I'd also like to draw attention to the lack of a diamond raise (NV versus V) by West. I think partner rates to have approximately 5=3=4=1. This is a great shape opposite our empty clubs and diamond shortage, but even so we need partner to have an awful lot of aces for that single NF raise for slam to be good. I will stick with game only.

The next question is then hearts versus spades. In theory hearts should be better as we have a known 9-card fit in hearts but only a known 8-card fit in spades, so the chance of a heart ruff in a spade contract is higher. What's more, we know we have trump control in hearts but not necessarily in spades (we might be off the A or AK, giving the opponents time to establish one or more heart ruffs on a 3-1 heart break). As a minor counterargument it'd be nice to ruff the diamonds in the short hand, but the other factors are more important. 4 it is.

I basically agree with Davidkok but would be more tempted by spades.
If the overcall really is worth 10+ then he can hardly be off both AK.
Nevertheless it is East that should be on lead and we do have the 9 card heart fit.

Thankfully, here, new suits are forcing or I think you are stuck bidding 4/1
