If you play a lot of them, its possible you simply ran out of deals. There's only this many deals played by stars in this format, so if you played all of them, you have to wait until new ones are available (ie, the stars play more).

You can also try a different format. If you've been playing IMP, try MP (there are generally more of these). And if you've been playing basic robot games, try advanced robots. Yes, you have to pay for them, but they're relatively cheap and as a bonus you don't have to see ads for a week.

And no, there's no conspiracy to limit the basic games to force people to pay for advanced games.

If this isn't a way of forcing people to pay for the challenges, then why does it work if you select "Advanced robots" ?

A little strange the same "Challenge a star" always works if you pay but not if you don't....

It likely works if you change something else about the format too... like a different number of boards, or a different scoring type.

This is the current count of tourneys available for star challenges:

There aren't as many IMP daylong tourneys, and almost none with basic robots, so we run out of those types quickly.

Update on this issue:

Turns out the source of deals stopped updating some time ago, which is why there were no more deals in Star Challenges for most players.

This has been resolved now, and we have fresh deals for everyone to play.
