We bid too high 5[sp]-1 but opponents' 5[di] wouldn't make

The diff is more, is a fit showing bid at the 3 level by responder after a 2/1 by responder already GF or just inv.
Playing Acol, responder will only know after openers rebid, if opener happens to have 5+ or only 4, but anyway,
the question, are you willing to commit to game having 23+HCP and major suit fit, or not.

Are you talking about this hand or in general ? this hand is not an 11 count opposite known spades.

Playing weak no trump Acol partner has 5M or 15+.
