This is a fantastic website with an extensive list of music (excluding World and Classical). You tell it a song or band that you like, and it plays you music with similar characteristics. As you tell Pandora more songs that you like, or you give it a thumbs up/down on the songs it plays for you, your own personal radio station adapts and improves. It is free. You can also share your radio station with friends.

btw my advice is to add songs that you like rather than artists, I've found this leads to something much closer to what you are looking for.

I can already tell that this is gonna be a terrible time sink: I have to love any site that recommends a song to me based on
"a vocal centric aesthetic, featuring minor key tonality, an unintelligble vocal delivery, and a subtle use of vocal harmony"
If anyone wants to check out my stations, search on richard.willey@gmail.com
The station titled Herot is probably most indicative of my tastes...

It says in the agreement that you have to pay - provide a credit card number. Is this necessary or am I doing something wrong?

Yo can skip the pay option and just get the free version - I think you select 'no thanks'
My bridge is going to suffer...this is great!

My music taste seems to be strange, it could not find what I was looking for

Did you mean for it to play me Cher?

I love Pandora. Maybe too much. I could sit at home and play with it for hours instead of doing things like... oh playing bridge, going to work, having a life.

Ya this is truly awesome..I am listening to Psycho by the Sonics..check out all their songs. They are a truly great band from my youth that never really made it big time for some unknown reason. It is great to play bbo and listen to this great music.

Today Pandora frightened me when it interrupted the blues to play Sean Cassidy! This is why they asked me what year I was born, isn't it? Yes! Yes I did have Sean Cassidy Poster! Yes I used to kiss it! I confess. But sheesh that was over 30 years ago. Isn't there some sort of statute on how long you can be tormented?
