I will be in 3NT in any system I've played.

I like to play this way as well. 2S for me, in addition, is NF and is a hand which would not accept an invitation to 3NT (though possibly would accept an invitation to 4S).

Maybe also for Free:

1: 13+ 5+ forcing
- 2: GF, 5+ cards
2: Minimum
- 3: Hearts (either slam interest or no stopper, otherwise bid 3NT)
4: No stopper, 3
- 4: Well I got Ax, maybe right contract
Pass: Okay

Can bhall please send me the notes to Minotaur? I'm interested :P

In a weak NT system

1 2
2NT 3
3 4

is a possible auction.

But we might just raise 2NT to 3NT.

I play one light 2/1 system and one FG 2/1 system. Neitehr of them particularly like opening 1NT with a 5-card major.

In one system we would probably bid
1S - 2D
2NT - 3NT (2NT = 15-19 balanced FG)

We could, if South judged to do so, bid
1S - 2D
2NT - 3C*
3H - 3S
4S

3C = enquiry
3H = 15-17, 3 diamonds, decent controls
3S = doubleton spade support, looking for the best game
4S = OK, sounds better than 3NT

...but I have a sneaky feeling we'd have the first auction

The 2/1 partnership would bid
1S - 1NT
2C* - 2NT
3NT

but at least we haven't highlighted the club lead
2C = balanced or clubs or decent hand with 6 spades
2NT = invitational without 5 hearts or 4+ clubs
if 2C is doubled we may have a rethink about the best game

I don't think it is a stretch to bid:

1-2
3-3
3-4

I'm surprised nobody suggesed somethign like this:

EDIT: I was so surprised that reread the post and saw Mike had :), why don't you use the color suit symbols mike?

1-1NT*
2*-3
3-3
4

1NT forcing.
2 3+

I might very well bid 3NT instead of 3 hard to not be biased, but rest of the bidding is clear in my 2/1 style.

I would certainly raise 2NT to 3NT.

Gerben's sequence is perfect. For me, opener's second round 2 would be just a "mark time" bid, could have substantial extra strength but nothing more descriptive to say. I don't raise pard's 2 unless I have four of them.

I would also think that start seems reasonable.

1 natural 5+
1NT forcing
2 3+
3 inviting
3 showing a stopper and no stopper
3 doubleton , no stopper

At this point since responder is limited to invitational values, you could even pass 3 I suppose. Might be a reasonable choice at MPs.
