was just watching a tournament. All but one of the tables finished. The last table was obviously slow, but they were on the last board and the tournament clock was at 6 minutes.

director: okay folks you playedslow enough to get all the kibs so now we are here lets finish up :)

two minutes later, clock at 4 minutes:
director: ..

in fairness he did later state that the clock will not expire and that they should play on, but I don't think pressure like this is appropriate in addition to there being a clock...

It was probably on 6 minutes after 2-3 extensions. Most directors put one extension on for the last round as a reflex.

I don't care much about hurried directors, or partner or opps, as long the round is finished in time. And if not, it can be adjusted.

About hurried kibitzers, I just don't care :-)

The last round it is tricky. It all depends on when you entered the last table to kibitz.

Let's say you entered the last table, when it was 0.1 sec for the Tournament to close and lets say the Director wants to give the table another 2 mins to finish the last board and extends the time.

When you as a kibitzer enter that room, you will see 6mins on the clock, if it is 3 deals per round. You will see 4mins on the clock if it is 2 deals per round. So what you see on the clock is misleading.

This is becos of software limitations. Director cannot adjust the amount of time added to a round. The Director cannod add time in fractions. Director can add only 1min or 2min or 3min per deal. When he does that it gets mutiplied by the name of deals per round.

You really cannot blame the Director here. He is perfectly justified in hurrying the players as they may be already playing on borrowed time.

Yup I do that sometimes when there are really slow players or some connection problems.
