3NT for me.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

I think dbl has a couple of ways to lose. Prefer 3, which allows for a 3M rebid by pard, which we can either raise or bid 3NT over.

I double also, I think QJ is the doubleton holding most close to having 3 cards.

3NT.

Strangely, though, this is another good hand pattern for 3 as a Herbert Negative. You double. If partner bids 3, he has extras and justification therefore for a 3NT call. If he bids 3, you raise. If he bids 3, a relay, you can bid 3 and convert 3 to 3NT, but you might stop at 3, which might be a good thing. If partner has extras, he has less incentive to blast a "let's hope 4" call, resolving to 3 instead. Plus, I have little fear of a 4 call, but I would embrace it if it actually happened.
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

I don't understand why 3N would be better than X. Are people so worried about a 4S bid by pard on a 4 card suit that they would give up on getting to hearts/spades when they're right/staying lower/diamonds? I just don't think it occurs frequently enough to be worth it.

I'd also double. As we play 3 as a Herbert negative here, partner will jump to 4 on a 4-card suit even less often than for most people.

Agree with Justin that the upside is so big that I'd rather double than overcall 3NT.
Kind regards,
Harald

Prefer double. 3N is pretty final.

I prefer 3 with this hand.

QJ is bad enough for 3NT to be an overbid, and since Dbl followed by 3NT over the likely 3 from partner shows a stronger hand, I can't bid that either.

Either of the 3 choices might be "best" on the actual hand.

I hate 3 NT, just one stopper, potential wrnogsiding contract, no source of tricks.
I go with 3 Diamond, I hear the stars say I should double and the reasons are convincing, but I am still unable to follow their view.
Kind Regards

Roland
