JTxx Qxx Jxx KQx
1♣-(1♥)-Dbl-(3♥)
4♦-(4♥)-?
Feel like 4♠ and 4N must be slamtries here. Agree? Is there a common agreement about this?
MPs. All Red. What would you bid? Is 5♣ enough? What if your red suits were switched?

I'm not sure I would negative double in the first place. Don't get me wrong, it's a normal bid. I'm just wondering if 1NT isn't a better description.
Either way, now I have a clear 5♣ call. I have nothing but soft values, so I'm certaintly not worried about bidding more strongly than that. If my red suits were reversed I'd bid the same way. You'd have to give me something sharper to consider more. Say I had Axxx xxx xxx KQx, then I would cue 4♠ for partner. Or if I had JTxx xxx Axx KQx, I would bid 4NT as a slam try.

This hand is really soft. I'll try 5♣ and hope to not be doubled if going set.

5♣. Partner is probably 6-5 and he should be allowed to show his suits without getting hanged. So a slamtry from me should show better values than this.

5♣ is enough, yes. Other than the fillers in the minor suits, your hand sucks. Leave it to pard to drive to slam if he's got that hot a hand.
If the reds were switched, same thing, except that I would be more confident to make 5♣ now

FWIW I would definitely double 1H, 1NT is out of the quetion for me.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.
