I'm doubling. I hope the spade fit is 5-2 and not 4-2 (or 3-2...).

If I trust the preemptor to hold a 7 card suit I'll bid 3N.

I fancy my chances opposite as little as Kxxx, Q10x, Qxxx, Jx.

Yes I'm prepared to look very silly if it goes wrong.

There are no good choices but you have to play the odds and X. There are those who advocate 3NT with hands like this. Gambling on partner having a stopper reasoning that the preemptor never has a solid suit. That should be enough to perhaps change the mind of those who refuse to preempt with

Policy pass, cannot handle the expected 3S by partner. Please try 3NT with this hand if I am the first-seat vulnerable preemptor.

In the UK almost everybody opens 3N with AKQxxxx and out, and that is a large part of the logic.

Double. But partner has xfers: 3H->S then I try 3N; jump 4S can play if S-Hx.

Double and try 3NT over 3. This is a good hand in the balancing seat so I think we have to do something.

Even though I pass I can actually understand double. However, bidding 3NT over 3 instead of passing it..... I'll just be nice and not comment except to say I don't get it?!?

Annoying, but I'd try a double. Good things might happen, if not partner will get some training in handling a 4-2.

Pass. 3NT is absurd; you have no stopper and no source of tricks.

Against Italian players I pass; against Australian players I think I have to bid - I'ma X it.
