Uh, if you're getting past 1N on 22 combined highs your methods just plain suck.

What contract do I want to be in? 1NT.

How do I get there? 1 - 1NT - All Pass.

The idea of bidding 2 on the East hand, even playing old-fashioned standard, is repulsive. If the East hand is a 2 response to 1, then the West hand is not an opening bid.
