Of course, you must place the K with west. So, how do you takle this one?

I see no difference in low to the J or Q to low other than that we may catch west sleeping if we start with the Q and they don't cover holding KTx. Then we don't have to guess after QKAx. But if they do cover, then I think you still should play for the drop if you have nothing to go off of. You definitely don't want to start by low to the 9 though. When east does have single T you will lose when starting with the Q or low to J.

If we assume that west will correctly cover with Kxx or KTx it is a three way guess between those holdings and west Kx. The advantage of playing the immediate finesse of the J is that it minimizes the number of undertricks when it fails. Leading the Q, as RunemPard has noted, will take advantage of a defensive lapse common against non-experts. You can never beat a 4-1 break.
