I'm free to set up a tourney for BBFers on Sunday. I think indy is more fun to get to play with everyone, but if you strongly prefer pairs, robots allowed, I'll do it pairs.

Edit: Tournament posted, open to anyone who has logged on the BBO Forums in 2014. Indy, 12 boards, MPs, clocked.

Any chance that we could run a "real" event: 24 boards or some such?
12 board events are crap shoots and encourage wild actions.

I know its kinda rude, given that you're volunteering to direct and this imposes a lot more work for you, but 12 board tournaments are just plain silly...

I don't mind making it longer, but I think this is a good start - let's see how many show up. Longer tourney means committing to more time online, means less people can make it or stay till the end. Plus, it's indy - more for socializing than going for the win since it's so random.

I will make a longer one for pairs if this one goes well, I promise.

Unless things have changed around here... the more "real" the event the less registrations you are going to get. Sad but true.

Yes, please Diana, if I am going to spare time for an event, I'd rather play at least 24 boards. 12 boards is....just not enough bridge.

Bumping this coz it's happening today. For those who missed it - come play, and let me know in private or here if you prefer longer tourneys if we are to do this again.

Next week I'll do pairs, robots allowed, 16 boards (?), same day, same hour.

Thx Diana,

I was unaware of this event early on but enjoyed watching and then filling in a couple of hands for Jillybean after she had to leave for her club. I look forward to catching this early enough next time.
