I suggest we all be proclaimed as winners. A Christmas Festivus miracle!

If someone still has 4-5 matches to play at this point, maybe we shouldn't wait for them? Unless they let us know of unusual circumstances the last two weeks, we would likely have to wait for them again should they make it to the next round...

Dear all,

-You can start round 2. The assignments are in the following worksheets: R2GP1,R2GP2,R2GP3,R2GP4,R2GP5

-DON'T FORGET IN ROUND 2 YOU HAVE TO PLAY 16 BOARDS PER MATCH.

- Make sure you also see the updates in OP.

- A brief explanation about the results: I assign arbitrary scores to people who are responsible for failing to complete. They are all eliminated and are not assigned ranking (and it has no effect on future seeding, which is pre-determined before the tournament, see the "format" sheet). If you're in top 7 of each group in round1, you are advanced.

- For the two 8th places, I let natali_ from group1 adv. because that's the only group where all 11 people complete (8 out of 11 harder than 8 out of 10). meekbird is eliminated for being responsible for not completing 1 match. The only cross-comparison is between wackojack and mofumofu, I pick wackojack to adv. given that even if he's only assigned 5.5 pts instead of 7pts for the match opp fails to complete, the VP is still higher than the one mofumofu gets. mofumofu will get the "bubble price" of 0.5 seeding points but will not be in round 2.

-There will be no carryover from previous rounds throughout this event (and probably most/all BBF challenge events).

To all group 5 members - I have 'followed' all of you. Whenever you're available to play, 'follow' me, and then you can challenge me and play your 16 boards instantly. (You can then unfollow me if you like :P) I'm ready to play whenever so will let you decide what best fits your Christmas schedule.

What's going on - where are all the media reports on the "group of death" R2G3? I thought this would be all over espn.com!

I've done the same thing (coincidentally, the same group). I can play any time, so I'll also let my opponents schedule the matches at their convenience.

Likewise following gp3 - prefer to get them played this weekend before the Christmas booze train leaves the station, but whatever suits folk.

GG. Board 1 was the definition of overkill. Even funnier that it is an MP event
