My suggestion is that any pair that leads a bare A frequently enough for partner to notice agree to lead K from AK always. You could start making a list an agreeing on exceptions, et c but you're better off using your brain cells on more frequent problems.
Some of my partnerships have gone to a style of leading bare A's more often, and we've adopted the agreement that A on opening lead asks partner to signal suit preference, and K asks for attitude assuming AK was lead unless the A shows up in dummy or your hand
