No takeout shape, clubs are too weak to bid with this 5-card suit & not enough shape to try for either minor so Pass

Really tough hand partner needs as little as xx, Kxxxx, x, Kxxxx for you to potentially make 5, but difficult to find a sensible action to take

really tough hand. Pass, X and 4C all seem flawed but somewhat reasonable. I guess to bid 4C but I don't like it at all.
"definitely that's what I like to play when I'm playing standard - I want to be able to bid diamonds because bidding good suits is important in bridge" - Meckstroth's opinion on weak 2 diamond

I passed and we got it two down for an average plus. The scores on the traveller were all over the place:

We can make 4 but no-one found it.

The traveller:

2E= -110
5N-2 -100
4E-3 +150
4E-1 +50
3E-3 +150
5XE-3 +500
3E-1 +50
3E-2 +100*

If you bid 4C, p will raise.
4C is quite often played as 2-suiter, and you only have a 5 carder and a semi bal. hand,
i.e. stopping in 4C is not simple, pass is ok.
