due to my handicap I cannot play in live tournaments. A friend of mine had the idea that I could participate via BBO .
Is this generally possible and how can it be organized?

No, BBO does not have any link to live tournaments. You can only play in our online tournaments.

Maybe your friend thought that since we provide Vugraph displays of live tournaments, it also allows participating in them. But Vugraphs are a special case, and they only allow displaying.

Hi luemmel,

does your handicap prevent you from travelling to tournaments or the manual process of playing the cards?

The ACBL once allowed a player ( he was unwell and couldn't attend in person ) to play in an event via BBO. We don't have any awesome technology that seamlessly integrates into a live tournament, so while i can't remember how the player did this, I do seem to recall there was some sort of manual proxy involved.

It would be truly awesome to be able to attend a live tourney remotely. The way to get this done is probably to:

1. Contact the ACBL ( or whichever body controls your live tournaments ) and get them to want to do this for you as an experiment
2. Then noodle with us and maybe we can come up with something that works
