Why is North bidding 3NT on THIS auction? Note that once AGAIN he ignores his own GIB definition, which "promises"..."10+ HCP", while he has only SEVEN, which is not even close to the MINIMUM "promised".

One of those finesses that only wins once...or so the robot "declarer" seems to think!
At trick 6, he slides the diamond queen...which WINS.
At trick 7, he plays his remaining diamond, the three, and...rises with dummy's ace.
Did he REALLY think that the GIBBO robot (!) in the North would be CAPABLE of playing low on the first diamond if he had the king? It was a GIBBO robot, the lowest of the low, the worst of the worst. It wasn't Zia or some other superstar!

Trick Two: Johnny Halfwit is now in the East seat and stupidly plays his jack of clubs from KJ2. If he had CORRECTLY played low and I inserted the 10, so be it, but with his imbecilic and COWARDLY play of the jack, I COULDN'T go wrong. GIBBO robots are the pits!

On the friendly layout, North can always take 12 tricks in spades (although only 7 humans did and 8 didn't), so East's imbecilic lead of the heart queen didn't cost him...but that doesn't change the fact that his lead WAS (as it SO often is for these GIBBO dipsticks) imbecilic.

Instead of bidding the COLD 3NT after South and West both pass East's 2H, the ultra-M.O.R.O.N.I.C. GIBBO robot does what these lowlife losers so often and so ridiculously LOVE to do. The piece of garbage bids 3H and later pushes on to 5D. Haven't these nitwits learned that when you have KX in the ENEMY suit, it's better to have your hand led INTO than THROUGH? We score 70 % on the board for going down "only" two in the absurd 5D, but as always the score is not the issue. Whether we scored 100 or zero on the board, it would not change the fact that North's bid was foolish.

Another hand from fellow BBO player OMARHEUM. He wrote "New hand from Just Declare yesterday: North did not have his 2H bid per definition. The best anyone did declaring was down 2."
He is indeed correct. North's 2H was described, in a typically pathetic GIB definition, as "New suit - 3+ diamonds; 4+ hearts; 21- HCP; 16-22 total points".
"New suit": Yes, Mr. GIB, I think THE WORLD realizes that 2H is a "new suit" in this auction. I think THE WORLD knew that even before reading your very annoying, very unnecessary, very useless, very insulting first three words. Why must you persist in beginning so many of your miserable definitions with such pointless claptrap?
"21- HCP": This literally means zero to 21, Mr. GIB. It is so broad and vague that it is completely useless. Here's a suggestion: Instead of such sloppy, lazy, open-ended, meaningless bilge, how about defining a point range within a limited enough context at both the lower and upper ends that it will actually be useful to players?
"16-22 total points". Pulled MAGICALLY out of thin air, as usual, with absolutely NO scientific basis - not surprisingly, since GIB has shown time and again that it lacks even a minimal, basic understanding of what "total" points are. Furthermore, look at the mismatch between the impossibly vague "21- HCP" and the more narrowly defined, but totally random, "16-22 total points". I think any reasonable person would assume, as OMAR did, that North has a GOOD hand. Even GIBBO itself presumably assumed this, since in this MANDATED auction, it now leapt to 3NT with the South cards.
North's ACTUAL hand was this lackluster, uncompelling, piece of dogmeat: K104, Q752, A852, QJ...a hand that looks like it should have just passed South's passed hand, nonforcing 2C. And if North foolishly decided that he MUST bid with his rag, 2NT would be a better description than his LUDICROUS 2H, which any COMPETENT player would take as a reverse.

And another hand from OMAR, who is well aware as am I and many, many other BBO players, of how awesomely hopeless the GIBBO robots are. I can only assume that there is a huge amount of discontent about this sad situation and that many BBO players, including paying customers, would be happy, as would I, if BBO got rid of these GIBBO abominations and replaced them with DECENT robots that had at least some SKILL at bridge. That would benefit not only all the disgruntled players, but also - and perhaps most of all - BBO itself.
In reference to this hand, OMAR wrote "Hand from the day before-not Just Declare. Most common result, occurred at 30 tables. Unhappy to see my partner North preempt and then bid again. Typical 5-0 offside trump break too."
Yes, 4S is a ridiculous, UNDISCIPLINED act - the act of a solipsistic narcissist who thinks that rules do not pertain to HIM, and the act of a "bridge player" so fantastically ignorant of the game that he never learned the elementary precept that a pre-empter is not supposed to voluntarily speak again. NO ONE invited North to join the party.
BTW, look at the piece of garbage that masquerades as the GIB definition of East's double of 4S: "7-18 total points". Typically vague and ridiculously broad statement about "total" points (a concept that GIB doesn't even understand), and NOTHING else. Is partner expected to pass, to bid, or to do Lord knows what? Is the double for penalty, takeout, card-showing, DSI, what? Does it show 9 solid diamonds, the four lowest clubs, the Curse of Scotland, the beer card, two voids,...what the Hell DOES it show? We're left to guess, because the pitiful, useless GIB definition says NOTHING except "7-18 total points" - TOTAL points yet - points that GIB has repeatedly demonstrated it can't understand. And yet, while this definition FAILS miserably in even a BASIC explanation of what the double shows (which is crucial information), GIB goes out of its way...in this same auction...to USELESSLY inform us that West's 3H is an "Overcall". And South's 3S? THAT is defined as "2+ spades". That's IT, that's ALL. According to GIB's typically useless and sloppy definition, South COULD have TWO spades or he COULD have 13, since (here we go AGAIN) "2+", with no upper limit, literally means 2 to 13...and the definition says NOTHING else about South's hand. TOTALLY useless "information", yet it was enough (enough of NOTHING!) to persuade North to abandon all discipline and repeat his spades - UNASKED - at the FOUR level. GIBBO is an embarrassment!

The board that I will examine here is a terrific example of SO much absolutely SICK nonsense by the always disgusting GIBBO robots that I will require THREE (!!!) posts to discuss it. This post, #1508, will be about my table, and the two following posts, #1509 and #1510, will be about two other tables, same board but different imbecilic actions by the useless, reprehensible GIBBO robots.
The board was played 48 times. 42 of those times, including at my table, the contract was a NORMAL 3NT. All 42 declarers made (an "impossible") 11 tricks, thanks to the ALWAYS expected hopeless "defending" by the truly execrable GIBBO robots. We all received a complete average on the board: 50 %.
At two tables, NS...AMAZINGLY...stopped in ONE (!) NT, where the two human Souths, obviously operating, opened the TWENTY-point hand with ONE (!) NT. At those tables, the declarers ALSO made 11 tricks, but they each scored only 3.19 % on the board, as they obviously did not receive the game bonus.
At one table, on another bizarre auction with the human South operating, NS reached SIX (!) NT. He took "only" 10 tricks, thereby going two down, and obviously scoring zero %. I will discuss THIS result in post #1510.
At the final table, NS scored a clear top pf 100 % for making 3H...doubled...with an overtrick. I will discuss THIS result in post #1509.
At MY table and presumably 41 others, "defender" West characteristically and of COURSE stupidly, slapped his partner East in the face by foolishly and unilaterally IGNORING East's double of 3C, choosing, GIBBO imbecile that he is, to instead lead a low heart (the 5) from AK75. Dummy North tabled the 10984 of hearts and declarer South called for the 4. East, West's obviously ANNOYED "partner", played the 6 (from 632 tripleton - Lord knows why!), and declarer South won the jack from his QJ doubleton.
At trick two, South continued with his queen of hearts. You know, this MIGHT have presented a TINY (ha, ha!) clue to anyone with an IQ over ZERO that maybe, just maybe, continuing HEARTS would NOT be a good idea for the "defenders". But of COURSE the GIBBO robot in the West did not have such an ELEVATED level of IQ...so the TERMINALLY ignorant GIBBO M.O.R.O.N. ...continued (!) HEARTS! He won his king at trick two. Fair enough. THAT makes sense. And then he BELATEDLY shifted to a club, right? No! Wrong! Pay attention! I said he was a...GIBBO robot (the LOWEST of the low, the WORST of the worst), so the malignant DRUDGE...next...CASHED HIS HEART ACE (!) before FINALLY switching to clubs. Too late, IMBECILE (West), because you (West) have just set up declarer's ELEVENTH trick by PERSONALLY establishing dummy North's last heart.
How is it even POSSIBLE for ANY "bridge player" to be this PHENOMENALLY inept hand...after hand...after revolting, disgusting hand? The GIBBO robots rot.
Okay, here's the link to my table. Read the next two posts to see the I.D.I.O.C.I.E.S. that occurred at two other tables.
